Waivers and acknowledgments

Two things in one place: how to ask for a fee waiver, and the acknowledgments an author confirms before paying. Draft for owner and legal review.

Fee waiver and reduction

The Publisher may waive or reduce the US$750 fee case by case for authors who cannot pay, including independent researchers, authors in low-income countries and students. A waiver is a decision of the Publisher, not an entitlement. Ask in writing after acceptance and before payment, with a short explanation.

A waiver is never a condition of acceptance and never changes the editorial decision. Editors do not know whether a waiver was requested when they decide. A granted waiver is confirmed in writing and applies only to the named article.

Acknowledgments the author confirms before paying

I understand that Northmere Press uses editorial screening and not external academic peer review.

I understand that paying the fee does not guarantee publication, indexing, citations or recognition by my institution, employer or funder.

I have checked that publishing here meets my own requirements.

I have the right to publish this work and to grant the license in the Publication Agreement, and all co-authors have approved.

I understand that the refund terms in section 8 of the Publication Agreement apply, and that a published article is generally not refundable.

Waiver of claims about outcomes

By paying, the Author agrees not to claim against the Publisher for outcomes the Publisher did not promise, such as lack of indexing, readership, citations, funding or career results. This does not waive any right that cannot lawfully be waived, and does not limit the Author's rights if the Publisher breaches the agreement or acts fraudulently.
