The field should follow
the question.
Questions about autonomy, agency and discovery rarely fit inside one established discipline. Our journals create a focused setting for contributions from different methods, professions and schools of thought.
A small, focused collection
The Journal of Cognitive Autonomy examines mental privacy and self-determination. Agency & Systems explores what it means for machines to act. Autonomous Science considers how discovery changes when experiments and analysis become increasingly automated.
Room for different kinds of contribution
We welcome research, methods, reviews, conceptual arguments and documented cases. A contribution does not need a surprising result to deserve consideration. Independent scholars and practitioners are welcome alongside university researchers.
Clear about the publishing model
These are founding journals. The current publication model is editorial screening rather than external academic peer review. We intend to publish open-access articles, with copyright retained by authors and licensing agreed before publication.
Submission is free. The publication fee is US$750 per accepted article across all three journals, payable after acceptance and before publication. The services and terms must be agreed before an author commits. Read our review policy and fee policy for the details.
